Student Privacy Statement
Prior Pursglove College is part of Tees Valley Collaborative Trust. This privacy policy explains how and why we use personal information we collect about you.
What information do we collect about you?
We collect information about you when you apply to be a student at our college. We collect information which will enable us to set challenging targets and understand your needs and preferences. This data includes your performance data at schools or colleges prior to joining us. We also collect data about you as you study with us. This data includes information about your ability, progress, and aspirations. We also collect pastoral data such as where you live and any relevant health concerns or learning needs which helps us support you during your time with us. We monitor our college with closed circuit television cameras. These images are stored for no longer than 5 weeks and are then deleted (unless there is a police investigation in process).
How will we use the information about you?
Data such as GCSE results, grade breakdowns, SAT scores, and reading ability scores are used to calculate challenging targets in your subjects. Data such as health information and specific needs are used to support you during your studies with us. We will hold exam board data in line with The Joint council for Qualifications requirements. Data such as your interests and hobbies are collected to help us support your application for work or further study. We may use your email address, phone number, and postal address to contact you during your studies.
Sharing data
We never share your data with commercial practices. We only ever share your information with other educational and public sector organisations when there is a need to support you or promote your best interests, in line with safeguarding legislation.
Access to your information and correction
You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of this information please email us at ppc.enquiries@pursglove.ac.uk we may make a small charge for this service. We want to make sure that your personal information is up to date and accurate. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
Changes to our privacy policy
We keep our privacy policy under constant review and will notify all current students if we ever change it.
